This serves to inform you that on receipt of a letter from SA Schhools on 09 May 2012 and further clarification in a Cricket SA Development Committee meeting on Thursday 03 May 2012, it has become necessary to postpone the WPCA Youth AGM scheduled to take place on Monday 21 May 2012 until later in the year (probably August or September 2012) for the following reasons:

  1.  Sport and Recreation SA as well as the Department of Education have provided guidelines for Code Committees to be implemented by the end of 2012.

  2. Since we already have most structures in place as required by the Schools Sport document, there are still structures that need to be initiated and implemented, the most significant being the formation of District structures.

  3. The document and proposed changes will impact on our constitution and thus this requires the necessary processes and timeframes to ensure these amendments are circulated and inserted before an AGM takes place where they will be accepted.

  4. All nominations received thus far will be held until such time that a final date for the AGM is finalised.

  5. All other processes and procedures with respect to Youth Cricket and the present WP Youth Executive Committee will remain in place until the AGM.

If any further information and/or clarity is required, please do not hesitate to contact the WPCA General Manager Nabeal Dien on +27 21 657 2035 , nabeald@cricket.co.za
