The purpose of the visits is to give residents the opportunity to meet and interact with the recently crowned Slam T20 Champions as well for the team to give back to the community over the festive period.
Shoprite, through its Christmas #ShareforGood campaign, has sponsored R10 000 worth of festive hampers for the Nashua Cape Cobras to hand out.
Cheryl Beaton, Funding Development and PR of Woodside, says the visit by the Cobras would be a great experience for the Woodside-residents. “It is inspirational to meet with champions who defy odds and overcome obstacles to fulfil their dreams.”
According to Shoprite, the supermarket group is delighted to share the spirit of giving in this way this Christmas. Sharing the platform with the summer champions and supporting the children at the Woodside Special Care Centre will be a positively uplifting and life-changing experience for all involved.
André Odendaal, CEO of Western Cape Cricket (Pty) Ltd, said: “We at the Nashua Cape Cobras family have received enormous support throughout the Ram Slam T20 campaign, culminating in us winning the spoils. This offers us an opportunity to share, care and empower a pivotal part of the Western Cape fan base.”
