The Cape Cobras have broken several records throughout this competition. These records include the highest RAM Slam opening partnership, individual score and a new all-time highest wicket taker.
The highest partnership was between Richard Levi and Hashim Amla, who made a 171 run opening partnership. In the same match, Levi set a record for the highest individual score by scoring 113 runs. Beuran Hendricks, the left-arm pace bowler, broke Chris Morris previous record of 21 RAM Slam T20 wickets by taking 27 wickets. All round, a superb all-round effort by the team.
The Cape Cobras will be without most of their national players: Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Rory Kleinveldt and Vernon Philander. However, the Cobras have depth in their squad, so the absence of these national players, might cause a bit of a headache for Coach Paul Adams as he’ll have to shuffle & prepare for the final this week. Stiaan van Zyl, Justin Ontong and the inform Justin Kemp, amongst others, will look to carry their form into the final.
The Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras qualifying for the T20 final, secures them a place in the CLT20 (Champions League) which will be played later this year.
