AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The main aim of mini cricket is to provide the game of cricket in its simplest form to young children and at the same time make it enjoyable.

- To lay the foundation of a lifelong interest in cricket
- To prevent better players from domination
- To give all children, irrespective of their ability, an opportunity
- To provide physical exercise in an enjoyable form
- To develop self-confidence
- To develop ball skills that will be useful in other sports

KFC Mini Cricket Provincial Festival 2012
The Annual KFC Mini Cricket Provincial Festival took place at Sahara Park Newlands on Saturday, 10 November 2012. The successful festival witnessed 1 100 children playing Mini Cricket simultaneously on the World's Number 2 Cricket Ground. The new Proteas' mascot ZAC was also present to entertain the kids.
Cricket South Africa Youth Cricket Coordinator, David Mokopanele said "This was one of the best KFC Mini Cricket Festivals I have attended to date and it is evident that there was a lot of hardworking and planning put in.
"According to Tich Kuwana from KFC the festival had been awesome and also been a pleasant sight to witness so many parents supporting their kids at the festival, "It was wonderful to see over 1,000 kids getting active at the festival as well as the high parents attendance supporting their kids" he concluded.
