Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) welcomes Mark Khoabane as the newly appointed KFC Mini Cricket Coordinator effective from 01 September 2014. Mark takers over the reigns of former Mini Cricket Coordinator Thulani Zideba.
Mark has been involved in the cricket fraternity for quite a number of years. He obtains a Level 2 and Sport Management qualifications under his belt. He was the Mini Cricket Zonal Convener for Nyanga township and attended the KFC Mini Cricket National Seminar in 2007. He has also coached various Western Province Cricket Provincial youth teams from Under 11 to Under 17 between 2001 and 2012.
"Mark is well known to the structures of Western Province Cricket having been involved for many years in coaching with a particular passion for township coaching. I believe he has big boots to fill given Thulani's success in this portfolio but I'm also confident that he will bring his own skills to this portfolio and continue to grow our base in the Western Province", WPCA General Manager Nabeal Dien said.
Mark's first task in his new role is the annual KFC Mini Cricket Provincial Seminar that will take place at Sahara Park Newlands on Friday, 05 September 2014.

The Western Province Cricket Association held a Women's Cricket on Sunday, 17 August 2014 at Sahara Park Newlands. The purpose of this indaba that was attended by 56 women's cricketers, coaches and administrators was to strategize the season ahead and how to overcome the challenges to administer women's cricket .
The biggest highlight of this Indaba is the new Leadership initiative that will be launched during the course 2014/15 season. An initiative that has never been done by WPCA before. This initiative will see women's club captains and those striving for provincial leadership opportunities undergo a Captains and Leadership course with the purpose of creating better leaders not only in the cricket field but in the communities as well.
A special General Council Meeting was held at the conclusion of the indaba to elect the Convener of Selectors and an additional selector for the 2014/15 season. Ex Womens Provincial players Heidi Siljeur has been elected as the new convener of selectors and Nuraan Pipers as the additional member.

Western Province Cricket Scorers Association (WPCSA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Sahara Park Newlands on Monday, 04 August 2014. Foazia Sylvester was elected to be new chairperson of the committee for the forthcoming 2014/15 cricket season. A new addition to the WPCSA family, Aphiwe Nkosimbini is the new vice chairperson.
