Border only managed to add 48 more runs to their overnight score of 87. They were dismissed all out for 135 runs in 46.4 overs in the first innings. Left-am medium, Mpilo Njoloza took two more wickets on day two to finish with figures of 3 for 55 in 17 overs.
Although they had a 57-run first innings lead, WP commenced their second innings on a back foot when they lost both their openers, Matthew Kleinveldt (1) and Mujahied Berhardien (0) in two consecutive balls to fast bowlers Sinovuyo Ntuntwana and Phaphama Fojela.
Taariq Chiecktey who scored his maiden half century for WP was involved three crucial partnerships that carried WP past the 170 mark before he fell to the hands of right-arm medium, Thandolwethu Mnyaka for a well batted 82 runs. Njoloza added another rapid 30 runs off 16 balls to help WP finish with 236 all out in 54.5 overs in the second innings giving Border a target of 294 runs.
At close of play, Border are 24/0 in 10 overs. They require another 270 runs to win.
