Cell C will have full naming rights.
The Cell C Festival of Cricket is scheduled for 03-05 January 2014 and will take place at the iconic Sahara Park Newlands Stadium.
“With only three weeks left before the New Year, fans can get ready for their usual date at Newlands but this time experience the Cell C Festival of Cricket,” said CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat.
With Love Cricket members already having enjoyed their preferential buying period, tickets now go on sale to the general public from Friday, December 13.
Tickets range from R80 to R150 with fans able to get a 33% discount if they buy a 3 day package.
“We expect fans to buy tickets early as this is going to be a spectacle not to be missed with cricketainment for everyone.” said Lorgat
Amongst the highlights of the Cell C Festival of Cricket, are the Proteas taking on the Springboks in a T20 match, two (men’s and women’s) North vs. South State of Origin clashes and the opening of the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge which will comprise a triple header featuring all six franchises.
“We pride ourselves in associating our brand with innovative sporting events,” explained Dr. Doug Mattheus, Head of Marketing at Cell C.
“Having the Springboks, the Proteas, the Women’s National Team as well as the domestic franchises all in action over a three-day period is a first for cricket in South Africa, and we want to be part of this historic occasion.”
An impressive list of artists has also been confirmed for the Cell C Festival of Cricket.
Over the three days, spectators will be entertained by the likes of Prime Circle, The Graeme Watkins Project, BlackByrd, Jack Parow and Marc Belling.
Apart from the music, there will also be plenty of food stalls, cricket coaching clinics and signing sessions.
CSA also proudly confirms that the much anticipated North vs. South State of Origin match will be sponsored by Momentum Multiply who have put up a winner-takes-all prize pool of a half a million rand for the match.
