Hendricks removed the Dolphins top three and conceded just 10 runs in his first two overs, which ultimately left the hosts with too much to do in their pursuit of a Cobras total of 157 for seven.
With Vaughn van Jaarsveld and David Miller not lasting long the Dolphins were soon 46 for five, and although Daryn Smit did his best to get them back into the match with a fighting 48 from 36 balls, the required run rate kept rising before Sunil Narine landed the fatal blows.
Smit and Khaya Zondo managed to take 19 from Hendricks’ third over, but Narine dismissed Zondo (34) and Robbie Frylinck with consecutive deliveries in the 18th over and then Hendricks got the better of Smit to finish with figures of 4 for 32.
The Cobras innings had confirmed a welcome return to form for JP Duminy, whose 56 followed on from scores of 45, 9* and 11* in his last three innings.
Duminy shared an 88-run stand for the fourth wicket with Justin Ontong (37 from 25 balls), which carried the Cobras from a position of uncertainty to one of strength, before Vernon Philander provided the late assault by clubbing 16 not out from just six balls.
The Unlimited Titans can close the gap between themselves and the Cobras when they host the Chevrolet Knights later on Sunday.
