The Cobras coming off a loss to the Sunfoil Dolphins last Friday in Paarl, will be hoping to capitalize on an under-performing Lions team and come away with a win. With the Cobras suffering a blow to their confidence in their last game, a win at the Wanderers would be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Beuran Hendricks is going into the match tied with Chris Morris’ record of 21 wickets for the overall most wickets taken in a RAMSlam T20 Challenge. Hendricks has taken 21 wickets in eight matches, whereas Morris took his 21 in 12 matches. Although Hendricks has mentioned that he is not worried about records at this stage, taking one more wicket in the next two games will see him go past Morris’ record.
Tonight the Sunfoil Dolphins will be playing away from home against the Unlimited Titans. All eyes will be on this game, as a loss in the next three games of the Dolphins would severely damage their chances of passing the Cobras in a race for a home final. The Dolphins have three games remaining whilst the Cobras only have two.
The Cape Cobras squad is as follows:
Justin Ontong (capt), Aviwe Mgijima, Beuran Hendricks, Dane Piedt, Dane Vilas, JP Duminy, Justin Kemp, Richard Levi, Robin Peterson, Rory Kleinveldt, Stiaan Van Zyl, Sunil Narine and Vernon Philander.
