Gauteng were the other big winners of the day after they hammered KwaZulu-Natal by 10 wickets on Vossie Field where Liam Mostert grabbed 4/28 that helped bundle out the opposition for 145.
Kabelo Mokonyane (2/23) and Liam McCarthy (2/18) also chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Heinrich Pieterse (84) and Tahir Isaacs (51) knocked off the runs themselves to guide Gauteng to a big win.
There was also a century in a losing cause for Border, who racked up 241/9 thanks to an unbeaten 107 by Adam du Plessis. However, they lost out to Easterns after Juandre Johnson (93) and Niel Joubert (50) were not out in the end helping their side to a seven-wicket win at Saints.
Elsewhere, Lance Trueman claimed 5/17 as Limpopo were easy 143-run winners over South Western Districts, who had one of their own bowlers, Schalk Vermeulen, take 5/29.
Northern Cape thumped Namibia by 105 runs thanks to 4/17 by Reeza Alexander, while Mpumalanga crushed Boland by 122 runs following outstanding bowling by Sameer Mohammed (3/5) and Zuan Swart (4/5), who shared seven wickets for 10 runs between.
Finally, Arend Visser’s 5/30 bowled Eastern Province to a seven-wicket win over KwaZulu-Natal Inland and Christiaan Bester hit 53 to guide North West to a two-wicket triumph over Free State.
