After a tough start to the season, WP have made strides to get successive win over Free State and Border.
Skipper, Andre Malan, has proven to be rock-solid with the ball as he has bagged a couple of five-wicket hauls to lead the attack.
WP Head Coach Paul Adams, who has made his way back from the Mzansi Super League (MSL) with the Cape Town Blitz, has lamented that his team needs to carry the momentum of the last-two encounters going forward.
“We have showed character when you look at the manner which we have managed to bounce back. The players and management have rallied together to find ways to grind out results for the badge.”
“The addition of franchise players has boosted the morale of the group, not only on the field but also in the changeroom. The young players have also taken well to the experience that the older players have brought to the fore.”
WP have been boosted with the news that experienced campaigner, Rory Kleinveldt, will step-in to render his services as Assistant Coach while Dieter Swanepoel is away honouring his MSL duties with the Paarl Rocks.
Other inclusions in the team are, Tladi Bokako and Mthiwekhaya Nabe – who makes his way back after an injury.
Qaasim Adams will take over the captaincy from Andre Malan.
