WP won the toss and elected to bat first. The team was full of confidence coming off their 3-Day victory against KZN and it was shown in their batting performance. Clyde Fortuin (59 off 60) and Andrew Puttick (48 off 76) had a good stand getting a 129-run opening partnership. Fortuin was first to go off the bowling of Kushen Kishun. Western Province finished their 20 overs with a total of 173/3.
KZN went in next and wickets fell constantly taking them to a mere 92 after being bowled out in 14.5 overs. Senuran Muthusamy was the only player to make a good contribution to their total, scoring 31-runs off of 32 balls.
Brian Shushu, Sybrand Engelbrecht and Francois Plaatjies took three wickets a piece.
The win over KZN sees WP at the top of the CSA Provincial T20 Challenge log (Coastal group) after two games, having won their first game against Boland.
