For the first time in the tournament WP batted first after losing the toss.
WP lost early wickets during their innings and at one stage were 89 for 4.
Laura Wolvaardt and Ashton Heldsinger were the key performers with the bat for WP scoring 46 and 30 runs respectively to help the side reach their score of 181 in 49.3 overs. Raisibe Ntozakhe took 3 wickets for 33 runs for Gauteng and was assisted by and was assisted by Zante Steyn and Jameelah Shaikjee who took 2 wickets apiece.
Spin bowlers performed extremely well for WP. The four spinners bowled a total of 39.2 overs out of the 40.2 overs it took for the team to bowl Gauteng all out for 83 runs.
Off spinners, Shandre Fritz and Robyn Appels finished with 2/14 and 2/16 respectively while Lara Goodall who was the only medium pacer to bowl took 2 wickets for 1 run in 1 over to clinch victory for WP.
