Fri, 13 April, Division 2A League winners of the 2-Day Competition Seacrest Cricket Club (SCC) beat Hottentots Holland Cricket Club (HHCC) by 9 runs after they failed to chase down a target of 111 runs in 20 overs. HHCC were bowled all out for 102 runs in the last over of the match. Clinton Brown of SCC did extremely well to win the trophy for his team and was awarded Player of the Match for his magnificent bowling spell of 5 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs.
In the second match of evening, Division 1A it was the WPCA Club Cricket 2011/12 season 1-Day Competition Finalists Western Province Cricket Club (WPCC) playing against second time Ama20 Competition finalists Altius United Cricket Club (AUCC). After losing the toss and being sent in to bat first under lights, WPCC put up a compatible target of 137 runs with 6 wickets down in their allotted 20 overs. AUCC needed 138 runs to win in 20 overs and WPCC’s fast bowler Ryan Van Niekerk did well to help his side dismiss AUCC for 120 runs in the last over taking 4 for 26 in 4 overs and was awarded Player of the Match. Altius United CC lost the match by 18 runs.
Sun, 15 April, three matches were scheduled to take place. The first match between 2010/11 season Division 2A, WPCA Ama20 Competition winners and 2011/12 season Division 1D, WPCA league winners of the 2-Day Competition Helderberg Cricket Club (HCC) and Somerset West Cricket Club (SWCC) was delayed due to rain. The match eventually started an hour late and the overs were reduced to 12 overs per side. SWCC won the toss elected to bowl first. At 11 overs HCC were 96 for 5 and the rain started pouring down before the commencement of Helderberg’s last over of their batting innings. After the implementation of the Duckworth-Lewis Method by the official umpires, SWCC needed 62 runs to win in 7 overs and could only manage 47 for 2 in their allotted overs losing the match a mere 15 runs.
The second match of the day saw another title defenders of the 1C Division, Bishop Lavis Cricket Club (BLCC) defending their title against Milnerton Cricket Club (MCC). MCC’s captain Robin Van Harte won the toss and elected to bat and did well to end undefeated on 47 runs helping his team put up a target of 98 for 6 in 20 overs in difficult weather conditions which assisted in the lateral movement of the ball. BLCC needed 99 runs to win and easily reached the target with 2 overs to spare and 5 wickets in hand. Simeon Fondling was awarded Player of the Match for his knock 20 runs (not out) that sealed a win for his side.
2010/11 season WPCA Ama20 Competition winners of the 1B Division, Cape Town Cricket Club (CTCC) were defending their title against Durbanville Cricket Club (DCC) in the last and final match of day. The defending champions won the toss and elected to bat and were dismissed for 100 runs in the alloted 20 overs. DCC failed to score 4 runs off the last ball of the match to secure a win and enable Cape Town CC to clinch the title in consecutive seasons
